FAIR USE, Glass Curtain Gallery, 2010

A multimedia exhibition that looks at how the copying, sampling, and recycling of existing material is being used as a creative tool in contemporary culture. Participating local, national and international artists include: Seth Price, Kay Rosen, Sze Lin Pang, Line Langballe and Christina Okai Mejborn of Totem Collective, Guy Ben-Ner, Pratchaya Phinthong, Bea Correa, Superflex and Siebren Versteeg. In addition to the exhibition, the curator brought the Totem Collective from Denmark to conduct a week-long workshop with students to create a site-specific project for the installation. The curator also commissioned the New York artist Seth Price to adapt a work specifically for the exhibition. The exhibition represents a year-long research and collaborative campaign, conducted through studio visits and through electronic means. It was also complemented with a walk-through with the curator, catalogue and artist lecture by New York artist Siebren Versteeg.
